The purpose of the residency is to give Armenian artists the opportunity to experience the New York art scene and network with fellow artists for two weeks. Upon their return to Armenia, they will be given the opportunity to create art and work on related projects in conjunction with Johannissyan Institute for six weeks. 

The residency is unprecedented in its scope and reach targeting Armenian artists. The country is in a relative isolation due to the geopolitical constellations surrounding it and artists rarely have opportunities to engage in international exchange.

Airfare from and to Armenia, as well as housing and a weekly stipend for food, museum visits, transportation and art supplies will be provided to the artists by the generous support of our friends.
