ABOUT THE THIRD AHCP RESIDENT

Kima Gyarakyan (b. 1998, Armenia) is an artist whose work is defined by sincere and simple expressions of sensory perception, reflecting both personal experiences and artistic explorations. She graduated from the Panos Terlemezyan State Art College of Yerevan in 2017 and the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia in 2021. Since then, she has participated in numerous exhibitions, including three solo shows, the most notable being “Detached and...", a revolutionary new chapter in her artistic journey.
Her artwork emphasizes spiritual values, offering a meditative practice that transcends rational thought. Gyarakyan’s approach seeks to convey a pure, clear state of mind to both creator and viewer. She uses a diverse range of materials—paper, watercolor, stone, plaster, cardboard, canvas, and tempera—that reflect her inner transformations and emotional evolution. These materials often take on abstract forms in her hands, offering a dynamic exploration of change and self-expression.
Kima currently works in her intimate studio space, where her art-making is deeply intertwined with her everyday life.
