Ruben Baghdasaryan

Already a star of the fashion sketch world, Los Angeles-based artist Ruben Baghdasaryan’s exquisite small (11 by 14 inch and 9 by 12 inch) paintings exhibited in “Blue Bonds”—portraits of young Angelenos and New Yorkers—hint at a rich and mysterious inner life. His blue portraits remind one of great twentieth century artists such as Picasso, Modigliani, and Matisse. Baghdasaryan displays the same facility with both line and expression, as did the great masters of modern art. His particular hue of blue suggest alienation and lend his portraits their slightly otherworldly edge. His art comet is on the rise, his work a great investment for buyers on the lookout for the next great artist to break through.
