Anahit Vardanyan

Anahit Vardanyan is an Armenian painter and visual artist born and raised in Garni, Armenia. Currently based in Yerevan, she studied painting at Abovyan State College and the State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia.
Working primarily in painting while also exploring analog photography and other media, Vardanyan investigates the intersections of memory, everyday life, human relationships, and the emotional connections between people and places.
Her artistic process often begins with observation and photography, collecting fragments of lived experience that later inform her paintings. Rather than seeking to reproduce reality faithfully, she is interested in capturing its emotional resonance—the impressions, sensations, and memories that remain after a moment has passed. Her practice draws inspiration from cinema, literature, music, and art history.
Through an evolving multidisciplinary approach, Vardanyan continues to explore the relationship between personal experience, memory, and the ways in which reality is perceived and reconstructed.
In 2026, Vardanyan participated in the Atamian Hovsepian Curatorial Practice (AHCP) New York Artist Residency, an initiative dedicated to supporting emerging Armenian artists through international exposure, cultural exchange, and opportunities for artistic and professional development.
